All three of my Six of Crows couples portraits. I felt so much from this series, felt so much for these characters and the very different relationships that progressed throughout the books. Thank you, Leigh, for making something beautiful and fun and heartbreaking all in the space of a few hundred pages. One of the highlight reads of my life.
Thank you to everyone who has sent me kind messages - I unfortunately can’t respond to them all, but it’s been so much fun working these characters into visual life and having you all raving and gushing along the way. I really really love you guys

Tuesday Feb 20 @ 12:55pmFinished this today and feeling a little empty that there’s no more books in the series to read. At least, not until August and it’s written in a different characters POV. So, I’m sure it’ll be amazing but it won’t be the same. *sigh* I’m going to miss these guys so much.
I love series/trilogies so much because they give more time for the plots to develop, attach you to the characters and just it ultimately ends up making it all feel so much realer to me. But when you binge a series and come up for air, it’s a little lonely. Am I the only one who’s felt this? Can’t be haha. Bookworms, help me. 🙏🏼😂
Question: what is the last book/series you binged that gave you a serious book hangover? And how long did it take you to pick up a rebound book?
- What she says: I'm fine
- What she means: Kaz Brekker is such a good example of how to write asshole characters who are actually likeable because he wasn't childishly arrogant nor did he undervalue the other characters - in particular the women that he worked with. An asshole as written by most other authors could never have recognized the potential of a sex worker (and a slave, no less) and, even if he did, he wouldn't have treated her with even the slightest bit of respect, constantly putting her down until she 'proved' herself to him. Sure, as Kaz and Inej got to know each other he would be sarcastic and self-praising, (greed is your servant and lever? how edgy lol) but he never once put her down or questioned her ability, and he was respectful about the trauma she underwent, even when it would have been easier not to. He wasn't some childish edgelord who assumed himself to be better than the others, he was a cunning and intelligent leader who was able to work around his own trauma without letting it control what he could and could not do. The asshole male lead is a popular trope in young adult fiction, but Kaz Brekker is one of the few that are actually interesting, realistic, and genuinely likeable as a character.

Friday Feb 9 @ 02:49pmAs promised, post number two. Caraval deserved its own #waitingonwednesday because we’re dying for Legendary, BUT Nemesis also has highly anticipated sequel coming out March 6! Just around the corner! The reason I didn’t feature them together is because up until last week, I was waiting. But Penguin Teen was kind enough to send us an ARC of Genesis so we’re not really waiting on anything anymore 😂😂
Also, I know I’ve mentioned this a few times in passing but I wanted to make sure everybody knew about the Nemesis Blog Tour that’s coming up! RI&W is participating and Brendan Reichs is creating unique content for our blog specifically. So make sure you stop by our blog (link in bio) on 2/14 to check out our review of Nemesis and the curated content you can only find from us!
Did you read Nemesis? What did you think?
Day 7: #thebossbookchallenge - The River | Great Outdoors: so this book takes place in Fire Lake, Idaho. That’s about as great outdoorsy as my book collection gets lol. (But also, thinking about it now I could’ve used Cheryl Stayed’s Wild… 🤔😂)

Wednesday Feb 7 @ 05:08pmKaz had never offered her happiness, and she didn’t trust the men promising to serve it up to her now. Her suffering had not been for nothing. Her Saints had brought her to Ketterdam for a reason- a ship to hunt slavers, a mission to give meaning to all she’d been through. She would not betray that purpose or her friends for some dream of the past.
